In response to the deadly earthquake on September 30, 2009, in Padang (West Sumatra), Indonesia, Indonesian Association of British Columbia, PERMAI-BC, would like to invite the general public to participate in our upcoming fundraising event. This event is intended to raise awareness and funds for the victims and their families to recover from the aftermath of the earthquake disaster.

We invite you to immerse yourself in a variety of entertainment, such as cultural performances from West Sumatra and live music among others, while enjoying delicious Indonesian food. Plus, you'll get a chance to win an auction and/or $1,000. And before you know it, you're having a great time and making a difference at the same time.

As an opener, we will show for the first time a world-premiere cultural documentary film called "Keras & Manis" by William Maranda Productions. The documentary reveals a visual and emotional exploration of spirit and tradition. Moreover, William Maranda with his friends and family search through the luscious country sides and benevolent communities of Bali in hope of finding the magic behind the culturally embedded and everlasting dance technique, Keras and Manis. "Because I come from art, from my Mother and my Father, I don't want to lose! I don't want to lose tradition, I want to keep." - I Made Djimat (Master Dancer).
