New Board of PERMAI BC 2013



Lidya Kewas – President
Graduated with tourism and economic degree from Jakarta- Indonesia, she worked in tourism and also in trades industry for years. In 1999, Lidya and her family moved to San Francisco. Then she worked in property management business ever since. Lidya with husband Ronny, daughters Annabel and Abigail migrated to Vancouver in 2007.
Lidya is currently working for RioCan Management Inc - Canada’s largest real estate investment trust company, while also serving Greater Vancouver neighborhood as a realtor for Sutton Group West Coast Realty - Canada’s number one real estate brokerage in dollar amount and property sales number.
Her passion in serving the community started since she was still very young in grade school and continue-on until today. Lidya has been contributing her unconditional care; share her knowledge and experience to bring Permai community together since 2009.


Mirza Soeria Atmadja - Vice President
Mirza moved to Vancouver in May 2011 from Regina, SK. Mirza has held multiple positions in banking industry (CIBC and HSBC) both in Canada and Indonesia for the past seven years, and currently works for HSBC Bank Canada in Global Trade Finance. Mirza holds Bachelor of Business and Industrial Law from Faculty of Law, Trisakti University.
As in community services he was in committee role for Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - CIBC Run for Cure Committee; a volunteer-led fundraising event dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research, education and awareness programs. He is also actively involved in BC Children Hospital Campaign, a fund raising event to support child health as well as champion for the Lower Mainland United Way Campaign in strengthen community capacity to address social issues in child poverty, bullying, and senior isolation.
Mirza lives with wife, Mia in Burnaby, BC.


Tetty Dameria Simorangkir-Treasurer
Tetty came to Canada as a landed immigrant in Dec 2007. She graduated with Accounting Degree from University of Indonesia in 1983. Her previous education and experience had given her the golden opportunity to work in many national and multinational level companies in numerous roles such as bookkeeper, accountant, and account manager. In 1987 Tetty moved to the US for two years accompanying her husband continuing his study. Tetty presently works as an Accountant at Campbell and Grill Limited. Her passion in getting in touch with Indonesian community in BC and share the experience of living in Canada reflects in contributing her time and knowledge to the organization specifically in Financial matters.
Tetty lives with her husband, Charles Nainggolan and adult son, Odi, in Surrey, BC.



 Christopher Dharma - Secretary
Chris (more commonly known as Dharma among Indonesians) is currently in the final year of his undergraduate degree of statistics and psychology at Simon Fraser University (SFU).  His volunteering experience began when he started to become the secretary of the club SFU-IA and finally promoted to become the president the following year of 2012. Throughout his undergraduate experience, he had worked at numerous positions as a co-op student and departmental research assistant in the university. His most recent professional experience involves working as a usability tester at Research In Motion (RIM) at Waterloo, Ontario. Being in the final year of his education, currently he is trying to find his way in life through finding a suitable full time career together with an aspiration of continuing for a master’s degree in the near future.


Nicholas Emmanuelle Martin Prijatna – Director of Cultural & Specal Events
Martin is a simple but creative mid-life man who runs a busy fun routines with his wife, Natasha Norita, and 2 beloved children, Ashira (12) & Rama (5). Driven by his passion, he's been working as a Designer and Art Director for the past 12 years in some award winning small boutiques and big agencies such as GoBig Branding Inc. (Boston, MA), Metafusion Design (Singapore) and Makheia Group (Singapore/ France). Since he moved to Canada in 2009, Martin has been working solo in his home office servicing International clients such as Denone, Mobilicity, GAP, G.H.Mumm Champagne and several healthcare institutions in Canada.
Prior to his real-life in family and career, Martin received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Art Center College of Design, Pasadena CA in 2000. He also held an Associate Degree of Visual Communication in 2007 from Art Institute of Seattle, which he realized that it's a waist of time in studying, money and social life. Although, he was blessed to meet his future wife in Seattle during an Indonesian Cultural Event which took him to learn how to dance.
Besides his love of arts & design, Martin also shares his deep love and concern to his forever homeland, Indonesia. He expresses his passion along with Natasha, a dance choreographer, to promote Indonesia through dances by building Indonesia Satoe Production in Vancouver BC in 2010. Martin has a big dream for Indonesia and he already plans a young retirement to live in the place he was born.

Winda Tamboto Hartono – Assistant Director of Cultural & Specal Events
Winda came to Canada in 2007 and settled in Calgary, AB before moved to Vancouver in April 2010. She graduated from Universitas Sam Ratulangi, Manado with a degree in Bachelor of Medicine. Her professional experiences include Nurse Assistant and Student Counselor at Sunflower Summer Camp Special School, Calgary. Associations’history includes members in the following organizations: AIMGA (Alberta International Medical Graduate Association), PERMIKA Calgary (Persatuan Mahasiswa Indonesia di Kanada), CISC Calgary (Canadian Indonesian Social Club) & AMSA Indonesia (Asian Medical Student Association). She currently holds the secretary role and performer in a performing arts and culture organization - Indonesia Satoe, as well as a student in Medical Administrative Assistant Program.
Winda lives in downtown Vancouver with her husband Damy Hartono.


Rome Boona – Director of Marketing & Public Relations
Rome graduated from Trisakti University , Jakarta Indonesia and University of Central Arkansas, USA..during his college days, he was an active member of Trisakti Student Association , was The President of Permias ( Persatuan Mahasiswa Indonesia USA ) Little Rock and Conway , AR, Secretary of Moslem Student Association at Univ of Central Arkansas, and also worked as Graduate Assistant at Univ of Central Arkansas. Lived several years in Indonesia and worked at Malaysian and Korean banks, Astra and AIG in Indonesia. Moved to Canada in 2007 and currently work as Relief Supervisor at Gateway Corp, Married to wife Dian TR with 2 daughters.


Verry Jap – Director of Education Affairs
Verry graduated from Tarumanagara University Jakarta-Indonesia and has worked in franchise restaurant industry as a restaurant designer for 8 years until he moved to sheet metal design as marketing manager for 2 years. Verry came to Vancouver in April 2010 when he pursued his studies in Interior Design at BCIT and Photography at Langara College. Verry had worked for Life Touch Photography in Vancouver and is presently working for ITPC Vancouver since October 2012. In community involvement, Verry has organized numbers of seminars covering topics in financial management, educational, to interior design and photography. His interest in getting to know more of Indonesian community in BC and further share experience and knowledge to others brought him in joining Permai BC.  Verry is married to Susi and have a 7-year old daughter, Viona.

Yasser Arafat – Director Social and Sports
Please call him “AJ”.At age 19, he immigrated to San Francisco, California. He graduated from City College of San Francisco, majored in Travel Tourism Business as well as from the American College of California, majored in Hospitality Law and Facilities Management. After 7 years of career in Transportation business working as Sales & Marketing/ Dispatch Manager at San Francisco Minibus, AJ and family moved to Toronto in 2005 to continue working in its major city public transportation TTC (Toronto Transit Commission). In 2006, with his wife Natalia and daughter Shava they decided to move to British Columbia where he currently works for CMBC (Coast Mountain Bus Company) - TransLink as Senior Transit Operator and actively leading for Lower Mainland Indonesian Football Team known as BFC (Brookmere Football Club).
